People ask us these questions at the front desk every day, and they ask the internet the rest of the time. Here are the straight answers, from the people who actually run the place.
Who owns or manages Sands Ocean Club?
Sands Ocean Club is the flagship resort of Ocean Annie’s Resorts, and it’s the home of Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar. Ocean Annie’s Resorts runs the front desk and the on-site rental program.
One thing worth clearing up, because search engines get it wrong: the condos here are individually owned. We manage 375 of them and rent them out, but each unit belongs to its owner. That’s also why no two are identical — more on that below.
And no, there’s no connection to Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the casino company. Different company, different state, same first word.
What hotel is Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar at?
Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar sits on the oceanfront pool deck at Sands Ocean Club, 9550 Shore Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. You walk out of the building and you’re at the bar. You walk past the bar and you’re on the sand.
Sands Beach Club, our other building, is a short walk up the same beach.
Can anyone go to Ocean Annie’s, or do you have to be a guest?
Anyone can come. Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar is open to the public — you don’t need a room key, and you don’t need to be staying with us.
Staying here just means you don’t have to drive home. Your balcony is upstairs from the band.
Is parking free at Sands Ocean Club?
Every unit gets one free parking pass. If you’re travelling with a second vehicle, ask the front desk when you book — we’ll tell you straight what’s available for your dates.
During the May bike rallies, secured trailer parking is $100.
Are pets allowed?
No. Pets aren’t permitted at either building — that’s an HOA rule, not a house preference, so there’s no exception we can make for you. Service animals are covered by federal law and are always welcome.
We’d rather tell you now than have you find out at check-in with the dog in the car.
Which building should I book — Sands Ocean Club or Sands Beach Club?
Depends what you want your afternoons to sound like.
Sands Ocean Club is where the party lives. The bar is on the deck, the band plays outside, and there are one-, two- and three-bedroom condos above it. If you came for the atmosphere, book here — and if you want to sleep early on a band night, tell the front desk and we’ll do what we can with what’s available.
Sands Beach Club is the quiet one. All one- and two-bedroom suites, its own oceanfront pool, and a walk up the beach to the bar whenever you want it. Same ocean, less volume.
Both are on Shore Drive. Both are oceanfront. Here’s the honest side-by-side if you want the detail.
When does the band play?
Ocean Annie’s is a seasonal bar and the music is outdoors on the pool deck, so the lineup follows the season. Live music at Ocean Annie’s has the details, or call the front desk and ask who’s on this week.
